How small was Samuel?

- The story of Samuel's calling is a really well known text from the Bible. But there's something about this little boy, Samuel, being in the temple that has always bothered him a little. How could his parents let him go there that small?
- The only word describing Samuel here in the text is the Hebrew word na'ar. The word has a massive range of meanings. How young Samuel was, well, depends on the context.
- Hannah says she will give Samuel to the Lord. When Samuel is old enough, she takes him to the temple. And he worshipped the Lord there. The most important point for me to realize in this story was that Samuel was left to be in the Temple.
